Cherry soup soup is tradicional recipe. This soup is popular in Romania, can be served as a regular soup or dessert.
If cherries are not pitted – pit them now (it may take a while if you don’t have a pitter). In a large saucepan, bring cinnamon, water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Add the salt and cherries. Simmer for 30-40 minutes. In a small bowl, whisk flour and 2 tbs water into the sour cream until smooth. Whisk a little of the soup into the sour cream mixture, then slowly add the sour cream to the saucepan. Turn off the heat and stir for another 2 minutes.
Pour soup into individual bowls and place in refrigerator until well chilled.
